Hallelujah and amen to that

Very glad to read of your joy of discovering the wonders of BFD2 John.
Like funkybot I too am a beta tester but just for fxpansion and like funkybot I was a massive fan long before I begged them to let me help out in the test department.

To answer a few questions... Ahh, funky beat me to the first one.

I don't use the step sequencer but I think it works for all drum vsti's although having looked again I see it works much better in BFD2 as you say, it shows within BFD2's interface and all the note names show up
like they do in the prv, very cool, don't know if superior drummer does the same but addictive drums and ezdrummer don't, as I expected BFD Eco also manages to do this.

There's a very useful and well made video from groove3 called, BFD2 Explained that covers pretty much all you need and more.

And a very good BFD2 mixing tutorial on youtube called (oddly enough) BFD2 Mixing Drums It's a good tutorial but I had to watch it about a 100 times as he goes far too fast and does things without explaining what
he did but I got there in the end.

There are more home made tutorials on youtube that are entertaining and sometimes informative.

OK now you guys have got me mad! WHY didn't you tell me about it before?

Beepster was important in me getting BFD Eco I had BFD dv but was uninterested in going any further.

So now I am going to hold you Twaddle and you Funkybot responsible for me being uninformed all this time.

John, where have you been for the last 3 to 5 years?
Seriously I've been banging on about how good BFD2 is for at least that long and can link plenty of posts hereto verify the fact if required.
I've got in to a few spats with folk here too about other brands the names of which I dare not mention.

I've read a lot of your posts over the years too and I'd like to say I've always been impressed with your depth of knowledge and your patience with other, less knowledgeable folk on here
who might have driven others (me) over the edge.

I love BFD!
Our only issue is getting it mapped and keeping the mapped settings when using a TD9x kit >.< Had numerous problems with the hi-hat not triggering and a few other things. Been a long while since we have used it, but that is only due to the fact I am doing out the room and the studio pc is down at the moment.
Hopefully we can get back to it soon.

OK full confession I knew about BFD but I was a bit peeved with FXpansion because I was a strong supporter of DR008 and I felt abandoned. They didn't offer a cost effective move to their new drum synth and I opted for Battery 3.

I never tried it or even look their way. But now all is forgiven and I'm just sorry I didn't get on board sooner.

What is really cool now that I am aware is you guys know it inside out. That is invaluable to me.

Also thank you for the kind words Steve. If you will recall I never ever told anyone that their drum synth of choice was no good. I have promoted Battery 3 though and I will continue for the reasons mentioned above. But it is wrong to tell anyone something is not as good as something else.

I also have Steven Slate Drums that sound great but I don't like how the interface works or the limitations. Neither Battery 3 or BFD 2 have many limitations.

I can't think of anything that BFD 2 needs. Battery 3 could really use a mixer view.

To rap up thanks Steve and Funkybot. Its good to know you guys are around.

I have yet to find a perfect drum solution, but the BFD stuff may be as close as I'll get. I like the sounds of Battery and Studio drummer but patching multi outs from Kontakt into Sonar is painful and unpredictable. I grabbed ECO at Christmas and I'm blown away by the ease of use. If BFD2 is still on sale at the end of the month I'll be grabbing the ECO > BFD2 upgrade and shelving everything else but my komplete percussion sounds.

Dude... it's on special right now for $129.

http://www.fxpansion.com/...ge=11&currency=USD

At least I think that's a special. Pretty sure the upgrade is normally $200.

Wish I could afford it but Eco's doing the trick for now. Cheers.

John, great name BTW, you will be blown away by BFD2. It is a near perfect drum synth. Eco is nice but don't draw any conclusions from it. Also it may take a little time before you fully get just how good BFD 2 is. However once you give it a good run you will be hooked. Plus it just works so well in Sonar.

I will try to post any sale that I become aware of.
