Its still on sale for the upgrade which is $129. It is normally $199. The regular version is $259, I think. If you can jump on it.

Dude... it's on special right now for $129.

Thanks, I saw that. I was thinking maybe I could get it a little cheaper. I emailed Tim at Sweetwater to see if I can. I am glad that I read here that the DL version is only 20bit and the boxed version is 24 bit, I would never have realized that before I bought. SW is out of stock so if I can't get a better deal I will jump on the 129 boxed version. Thanks for letting me know, I thought that 129 was the regular price.

I got a lot of videos to watch in the next 30 days.... whew!

I'll let you know what I get and how much.

John - I'm a Superior user and am entrigued with your comment about drum names showing up without a drum map.  How does that occur?  And can you alter the order of the drum piece names so that you can put all the toms together, all the hihats together, etc.?

There's something in BFD2 that tells Sonar the note names. How it works is beyond me, but it does.

Can you change it? Yes, if you adjust the keymap in BFD2, those changes will be reflected in Sonar's PRV.

it's an instrument def or along them line.. the 808 and 909 kits in the groove synth do the same... so when it calls that specific patch / instrument  it adjusts the prv

sadly cakewalk make it a PITA to do editing of such (drum maps being a prime example, something SO wrong about text import) / same again for SD 2 and 3 etc.. why have multiple SFZ's when 1 could do...  , when it could be FAR simpler and they would find people didn't mind making such things / sharing them

if they didn't over engineer certain things, they'd find people would do more resources for it..

Sorry, was on the phone...

I haven't seen the upgrade go for less than the current special yet. I think that might be as low as it'll go until BFD3 comes out which I haven't seen any talk on... but I haven't really been paying much attention.

That's a pretty good deal though especially if you hopped on the $50 Eco deal initially. It ain't no nonsense fluff like some software "deals" either. I forget the amount of samples included but it's something ridiculous. Wish I could drop the coin but it'll have to wait for now.

Cheers.

You mean the rolland groove synth?
I just loaded it and firstly I don't see any kits just individual hits, then when I do load them the prv doesn't respond.
Anyway, it sounds horrible to my ears.

Yea I don't think I've seen it lower and I imagine they may have another sale prior to BFD3's release but it will probably be for the same price if it does happen.

Ah boo I HATE threads like this ever since my Jan 1 resolution to stop bankrupting myself with new plugs. Having said that I'm doing fine with NI's drummer series and Battery 3.

Yeah... I will jump, I just have a habit of asking for a better deal... sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. Usually on a guitar or mic... I can get a better deal, maybe not on this... but the worst they can do is say "no", then I'll buyit for 129... and be happy!

Glad to hear it Jbow
Just as a word of warning, BFD2 like superior drummer isn't really for people that want drums that sound polished out of the box, it's for people who want to do their own polishing.
Having said that there are presets included that come in different genres but there aren't as many as addictive drums but many more than ezdrummer.
I'm only saying this because some people have complained that it doesn't sound like the drums they here on the records they like which to my mind is probably a good thing

I guess I was little gung ho about this. I want everybody that is interested and able to have a good chance here. I wont take back what I have been saying about jumping on it but if its not feasible now its something to go after later on. I do think even at the full price BFD 2 is worth it.

Because you have Battery 3 you have a great drum synth already. However BFD2 is a lot easier to get a good sound from and it does seem to like Sonar. Plus it has a mixer! Really, its the sound that is so nice.
