Simple...I amd looking at the VS 100 and the MCU Pro...I am looking for those who have experience with one or both of these...I'm perticularly looking for ease of integretion and overall usefullness...comparatively speaking...I know a fair amount about the MCU, but just started looking at the VS100. It is also a good bit cheaper than the MCU...your thoughts and opinions please! The floor is now open...

Thanks!

All the Surfaces have "issues" in Sonar right now.
My FW-1884 will obsolete when forced to move on from Win 7.
Tried the MCU, thinking it was working well, as soon as I ordered it a bunch of threads popped up with problems.
I sent it back.
Still keeping an eye on the VS-700C.
Hopefully Cake will get us back to full "Mackie Emulation".
Karl (FFB) I'm sure will chime in....

Hey David,

FWIW, You might want to "sit it out" for a short bit regarding a hardware controller.
Multi-touch monitors are coming way down in price.

ie:  You can get the 27" unit used in the Cakewalk video for $699.
I believe it allows 20 separate simultaneous touch points.
Two users can work simultaneously with both hands.
IMO, This is the future of hardware controllers.

Hmmm....interesting...anyone using a VS100? As for the touch screen, I do appreciate the input Jim...I amd very hands on and like to feel what I'm working with(Yes...I'm laughing, just as you and a few others probably are...lol!)...so I'm a little sketchy for the moment on going touch screen. However, I am in no hurry for this and that is part of the reason I am bringing this to the forum, because I do see a lot of controller issues on here...

Touch Screens:
Lay one flat on the desk and put the console on it.
Have more than one: smaller one for matrix view, laying on desk, to the left of the keyboard.
Small one just over the synth keyboard to adjust Dimension,....

And so on.

I wish I hadn't seen this post and looked at the referenced video.  A new and irresistable piece of hardware to slowly become obsessed with.

I've used the VS100 and it's quite a nice unit.

It only samples up to 96K as opposed to 192K as
the Quad and Octacapture do...

An Android Tablet with TouchDAW will work as a control surface if you
already have a decent interface...cheaper too..

Advantages to VS100

1.  Built in effects - decent, not great
2.  Portable - not very large
3.  Can be used stand alone with a SD card (2 Track - 48K IIRC)

It's a nice unit for the price...

Never used it with Sonar...only with Cubase...
