I've tried asking this on the RME forum where I got no response.  My question:  the output from channel 7&8 are much lower in volume than the outputs for channels 1 - 6.  All setting in Total Mix are the same.  Any ideas?  I'm hoping that someone with a FF 400 will have the answer.  Thanks in advance for your reply.

A bit more information.  Channels 1 - 6 are routed into channels 1 - 6 in my mixer, while I'm using a stereo Y cable from the headphone output on the front of the FF 400 routed into channels 7 and 8 of my mixer, yet the volume level is much lower.  I have the headphone output level turned all the way up to 6 (the max), yet that doesn't help.

The headphone volume is lower by default in TM I think, did you check that?

Ok, but did you have a look at the total mix output settings?

Edit: missed that part in your OP, sorry :(

Did you check the headphones Level settings in the Fireface settings (i.e. not Totalmix)?

Thank you so much!  That was it; I had it set to -10 rather than +4, and I totally overlooked the Fireface settings.  I gaurantee that you hit it quicker than the RME forum.

Lynn, that was what I was trying to mention from work. I would have answered you now, but you already know :-)
