YIKES no! - For not a few of us, still having 8.5 available on our machines has been our salvation--meaning that it's what we still use as we wait to see if X1 ever gets up to speed.

Can someone please help me? My mother kindly got me a new laptop and audio interface for xmas Laptop is windows 7 64x OS The Audio interface is a Roland Quad-Capture 4x4 24bit/192kHz Usb 2.0 interface It came with a driver for Sonar X1 LE (think its the studio version) Ran the driver for the interface, all fine... Then driver for the Sonar and re-tried a few times as this was the error message C:\Program Files(x86)\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\NullProxy.dll Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0xC0000005. Click Retry to try again, Ignore to proceed anyway (not recommended) or Abort to cancel the installation I tried the retry button a few times, still the same message and aborted in the end. Never clicked ignore and after a few hours the program appeared on my desktop. It opened and seemed to go fine, though now I notice there are no plugins etc. There are issues its not complete seemingly. Now I'm trying to uninstall and re-install but when I click uninstall now it gives me error message "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 LE\unins001.dat" file is corrupted. Cannot Uninstall. I'm generally computer literate, not a genius but with this I have no idea how to get rid of this or fix it without recovering my laptop... any ideas whats wrong? please please help?

xsapphirex - you'll get more answers if you start your own thread rather than tagging onto one that's nearly 2 years old

Definitely not. If you do, the new install won't be able to import your 8.5 settings. Leave it be.
