Looking for some help with TH2. I bought the full version, and when I put it into a tracks FX bin, and hit input echo, I can play guitar through it all day, without any issue. As soon as I hit the record button every note I play on the guitar is delayed, hard. If you stop recording the delay continues, doesn't seem to matter what buffer is set at. If I stop the audio engine and start it again, then the delay goes away -- until I hit record again. Any ideas?

it has everything to do with your soundcard, it's drivers and driver settings.

what are they?

Very strange.  What happens if you place TH2 into a new bus and route your track through there?

Also, as Beagle said... Sound Card? Drivers?

I'm running ASIO, but it doesn't seem to matter what buffer setting's I use. I can run anywhere from 48,96,512 buffers, and it still happens. Is there something I'm missing?

I'm using a Roland Octa-Capture.

does this happen only on ONE project or ALL projects?  if you start a brand new project, does it still happen?

have you tried turning off ADC?

Do you have any effects in the project, particularly CPU hungry ones like Perfect Space or look Ahead ones like the PC Concrete Limiter?  If so, disable them when tracking. Other culprits are the LP-64 EQ and Multiband Compressor.

If this is happening on an empty project, then it is obviously something else.  Post back, and we'll try something else.

It doesn't matter if there's a bunch of tracks or if I start a brand new project.

@Beagle what is ADC?

Automatic Delay Compensation.

I have a feeling that there is something inherent in Sonar's audio engine that makes problems accumulate the longer it runs. Of course technically, I have no idea what I'm talking about...but I have a similar problem with latency, in that it seems to build up over time until it's ridiculously large, but if I stop playback and turn the audio engine off then on again, it reverts back to normal. Kind of similar to the problem some of us have with MIDI notes falling behind the beat the longer a looped section runs. Although in that case, I don't have to turn the audio engine off and on, I just stop and restart playback.
