@Stokedboss: Is TH2 a stand alone VST? If so ... have you tried it in another host ... for example Reaper? It takes seconds to download (Only 7MB) and is a good tool to help troubleshoot problems like this. If it works in another host, then you have some settings to compare to Sonar.

Another thing to try is to delete your Aud.ini file and let Sonar rebuild it. Hopefully you haven't edited it at all or much. Doing that sometimes fixes odd problems like this. Make a backup first in if you have edited it in case that doesn't solve it, then you can just restore it.

@Sharke: Yep. +1

@sharke -- That would be a great idea, except that I just reinstalled all my software on a new computer, it's only been running for a week or so!

@ Bub, that's a really good idea, I'll give that a shot and see what happens.

Okay so update, now when I use TH2 in a new project the delay is gone. But when I try it on another project that has minimal tracks and no plug-ins the delay is there again.

I tried disabling ADC, and it didn't do anything.

I deleted Aud.ini, and still nothing has changed.

I figured it out. It seems that there was a bus that had Perfectspace enabled on it, after I bypassed it the delay went away.

Still it's weird the delay just went away on new projects... I'm not sure if it was something I did or what.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Have you opened the TH2 in stand alone as bub mentioned. If you are experience the same thing there, then it would appear to be a TH2 issue, there are some settings to select there and a "test" button. If you don't experience the issues there, then it could be Sonar related. Would help to know.

That is weird,I very nearly ponied for the octo,but got a desktop instead[my laptop/newbness to ALL things "computer"was giving me fits.

With my desktop,my eventual 2nd "slightly wrong purchase"-a UA25-EX USB 1.1 interface just gets by at 11.2 ms "Round Trip Latency",and this is with this: http://www.oblique-audio.com/free/rtlutility THIS POST IS ALL Messsed Im rewriting,anyway glad you got it sorted!

The gist is I'm glad the octo is cool,cause I get the impression on my laptop the "Quad"[same pres?] doesn't quite get the 8.7[more like 10?] RTLatency[8.2 reported in X2-interface trick,NOT the daw] that I'm getting with the N.I. KA6 fer $279 delivered,and records sims all day at 32 buffer 48KHz 24 bit.
ohh that was awful rewriting,cause the forum software decided to edit everything after the link!

Glad you got it sorted.

As I said earlier this is one of the first things to look for, in my experience.  Took me ages to suss what it was.  Convolution reverb is a huge CPU hog.  That's what causes the latency.

Other plug ins are look ahead effects, as obviously there will be a delay as they scan ahead.
