Not having a cnnected network wire or wireless device does not disable the services constantly polling the hardware for their existance.


SSDs are not supposed to be included in the list of available devices in the windows defrag program.

Correct about SSDs not showing as available to defrag, unless you have replaced a mechanical hard drive with an SSD. My mechanical drive died. The SSD I replaced it with had the defrag setting on, until I changed it. So, it seems it is possible, if not likely.

Caution; From what I understand about SSD they should never be defraged. It may destroy them. Now I don't know this for a fact but before you do anything with an SSD find out if defrag is OK or not.

Thank you for this bit. Another example of howl MS managers are short-minded, almost never fully implement anything.
