I recently built a new PC and used a Corsair H100i liquid CPU cooler. It kept the CPU (and i7 6700K in my case) cool but the fans were noisy - too noisy for recording. Some searching turned up many complaints about the "noisy" Corsair fans. I had considered replacing the fans with Noctua (quiet) fans but the H100i radiator/fan assembly blocked the rear panel fan space in my case and the fan had to be removed leaving me with only one case fan (in the front). After discussing this in depth on the tenforums.com I decided to replace the Corsair with something else.
The replacement is a Deepcool Captain 120EX, which was advertised as quiet, and as it turns out it is "quiet as a church mouse" (and that is with my hearing aids). CPU temperatures are about the same as the Corsair so I didn't lose anything there. Cost was a lot less than the Corsair.
Something to consider for a quiet DAW PC build.
