Dorico is new scoring software by steinberg, out end of the year.. dunno who came up with that name, but well sounds a bit too much like dorito :/
 
if it's the ex-Sibelius london staff who got turfed out after they got sold.. I hope it does well, very well.
 
 

Some parts sound good, but the price is a little steep and the fact that it doesn't have chord symbols or tablature is a major mistake. Before it was looking like they wouldn't have much competition, but Overture has a similar feature set, much cheaper and it seems further into development. Overture is only being worked on by one person though, so Dorico might beat them when it comes to releasing a stable fully functioning product.

It's version 1.0.  It will have chord symbols and tablature and all the other bells and whistles as it matures.  They have stated that chords and tab are coming pretty soon after release.  Also the price is comparable to Sibelius since it is designed as a professional notation application.  It needs some time to grow.  

The price is a little off-putting... and the learning curve to switch from Finale (which I've used since the late 1990s) to any new tool is even more off-putting!
 
But their approach to abstracting the performance data from the presentation is really intriguing!!!

There will a crossgrade period for $299.  I would be switching from Sibelius and, yes, it will be hard.  I plan to crossgrade but I realize I will have to wait for some features that I need such as chord charts and TAB.  Daniel has said the those features should be not too long after initial release.  I'm a big fan of Daniel and his team.
