I think Craig moved to Vantucky

Yep, from Vantucky to Vantucky (about four miles).  What a waste of time, effort and money!  A one day move turned into four (after two "prep" days where I worked 18 hours each).  The four days were 78.5 hours of work!  Lots of bins and boxes filled with books, some up to 150 pounds each.  I really can't believe how well my body came out of this!  No back pain or knee issues this time.  Maybe I'll use this as a jumping board to get back into the gym - we'll see!

Naturally, I went directly from THAT hell (of which two days were about 100 degrees F) to two days out of town doing a side-job.  Tonight I'm hitting the hay early and getting some catch-up sleep.

Happy birthday to the (apparent) multitudes of people that had birthdays while I was gone and happy un-birthday to everyone who didn't!

Hi,

Grrrrrrr ... I'm not a fan of moving! The records and books alone take the fun out of it! And organizing them again later!

Got 12 wonderful hours of sleep.  Still woke up sore and stiff, but another full day of unpacking and putting things where they're supposed to go should keep things moving...  Bleh.

The worst part is that I already know I won't be here that long (there's NOTHING to do here!).  Once I can re-establish anything resembling an income I'll probably move out to a better place (and the GAS will return - lol!).

As Janis Joplin said, "I've been rich and I've been poor.  Rich is better!"

I hope you at least have big windows with a southern exposure.  That'd be the only redeeming value of living anywhere in the PACNW.

Unless you happen to NOT like heat (like me).  I'm always several degrees warmer than everyone else so I would avoid large southern exposure windows like the plague (except to enjoy the view if it was cool enough!).

I don't play sports any more so I want to live somewhere that's gorgeous (it is up here), cooler (it's supposed to be) and more relaxed (DEFINITELY a slower pace than southern California was!).  I like weather which is always changing up here and there are even seasons (I'm only used to Summer, Earthquake, Fire and Flood).  I'd even rather see rain than sunshine that's too hot.  The usual blue skies, white, puffy clouds with occasional showers is perfect as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not into the weirdness, hippy-ness or artsy-fartsy-ness that is Portland.  Plus I can't stand traffic!  Once I can set up some type of internet-based business, I'll be able to move to one of the many quiet areas up here that have lots of space, great views and "normal" people worth being around.
