We should be able to authorise software we paid good money for.
 
I quote Craig Anderton in an interview I saw "Subscriptions allow for monthly updates, but if you decide to stop your subscription the software is yours to keep FOR EVER".
 
So yea, they owe us at least that.
 
By the way; I hope Gibson curls up and dies soon... Greedy tossers. My hope is someone might take the name and go back to building guitars like they did back before the horrible corporate buy-outs. Tokai would sort it out.

From what Craig Anderton said in another recent post it seems that Gibson were/are reluctant to explore any other options than closing it (Cakewalk) down.

I saw the news only yesterday. Still in shock here. Unfortunately my suspicious nature when I subscribed to the "lifetime updates" is confirmed again. Seemed too good to be true.
 
Hope that there is still a reasonable way out. I am even ready to go on an (reasonable) annual payment schedule again, if that helps a solution
