Yes, I know I already started a thread a few days or so ago. But I thought this was important enough for a new post.

The Octacapture has "zero" issues with my USB 3.0 ports on my laptop.
I even have an external HD connected and a usb mouse-3 0f the 4 USB 3.0 ports. My laptop has no 2.0 ports.

Nary a hiccup-been running for about 3 hours now. My softsynth tracks and audio tracks all sound great!!!
Definitely good drivers. I mmean the Echo Layla3G is no slouch so it's a very good comparison especially considering the EAcho is in a PCI slot.

The only difference I hear between my Echo Layla3G and the Roland OC is the volume. Echo is defintely louder. But I have not even fooled with the settings in the OC-been a\b ing for hours. I think the OC is abit crisper than the Echo. In a very good way.

To clarify-there are a multitude of posts on the web about the Roland QC and OC having big issues with USB 3.0 ports.

Maybe with some, I guess-who knows. But I am loving it and thanking all the folks who stuck with me thru my decisiom making frenzy :-)

Thanks Forumites

That's good news. Hopefully others have good news about this as well.

Does anyone have two Octacaptures linked together in Win8 for a total of 16 inputs?

Glad to hear it's working for you!

The new roland capture interfaces are very impressive!

I've tried mine with USB 3.0 and no problems, that I know of.

Is there any performance improvement that you can notice using USB 3?

I have one USB3 port only and I put my sample drive on that port thinking it would help more there.

I can go pretty low on USB 2 with the Octacapture already

USB 3.0 speed is only with USB 3.0 devices.  If you connect a USB 2.0 device it will only run at the USB 2.0 speed.

There is no performance improvement.

According to the manual, the load on the PC are quite high when you try this. Would be interesting to know if Win8 performs better. I opted for the Tascam US-1800 - 14 inputs.
