I don't know if this would help you or not.
My now ex-wife teaches group fitness classes, and I made up a bunch of music mix CD's for her over the years, using Sonar to do so.
What I did was to insert an audio track for each imported single track, then import 1 track to that audio track.
I would then insert a new audio track, and set the Now Time marker to the end of the first track, and import the 2nd CD track to the 2nd audio track. I did things this way because I frequently had to edit out ends of tracks and beginning of subsequent tracks to maintain seamless rhythm for her fitness classes.
So, at the end of it all, I would have a number of audio tracks, 1 per tune, all staggered to follow each prior track's ending.
When complete, I would export each track as a separate file, then combine them with no gaps in between songs in Windows Media Player, to create her final mix CD's.
Would something like the above work for you?
If not, please explain a bit more what you are trying to do.
