I bought Sonar X1 Essential a year ago and have not been able to wrap my head around using it.  I decided I would give going through the tutorials one more try before uninstalling it.  I am stuck in tutorial 2 --using the browser.  Everything is there, and I get that this is the place you can pick/choose tracks, sounds, etc. but I CANNOT HEAR any audio from the play control in the browser.

The main window playback controls work fine, I've gone into preferences and through EVERY option--there is nothing I've seen that is browser-audio specific.

Any and all suggestions are very much welcome!

In the Browser, click the Media tab. Then click the downward arrow just to the right of the Media tab to access the menu. In that menu, choose Audio Preview Bus and choose a bus for audio output for the Browser. I usually set up a dedicated bus for this purpose or you can send it to the Master bus (if you have one).

Thanks!  It seems like these tutorials are written generically for several versions of the product--lots of the things they say to look for seem to look different.
I will keep trying to make it work!
