This may make no sense - but can the autosave files be diverted to a different folder or drive even - or must it stay attached to the original project? I certainly realize the value of the backups - but in doing some file "housecleaning" this morning I found a load of them and even ---- autosaves of autosaves....

"Save" saves to the projects destinaion and "Save As'  saves to a destination decided by you. So the answer is no. Its "autosave", not "autosaveas"

Remember as well that cwp files are relatively small, they don't contain the project audio only pointers to it.

By using "Enable Versioning of Project" in the auto-save window I would guess you'll get.. kind of what you want..

Even though the oldest version disappears when a new save is made, you'll have at least a few older versions to go back to if you want to.

It should just be a matter of finding the right time between saves and the right number of versions you want to have availabe to give you a nice working enviroment.. :)

I don't use "auto-save" myself (cuz I press ctrl+s unconsciously when ever I've changed something anyway, and make a new "save as" when ever I'm about to make a bigger change (just putting the current date  at the start of the file name)) ..but isn't this exactly what versioning is about; being able to go back a few versions?
