  • Display options mysteriously changed after opening a project

So I work on a project last night, everything normal & fine when I closed it. Opened it up this morning, and strangely enough the console view was barren. Turns out that for some bizarre reason, none of the options in the "modules" menu were checked  - I had to recheck them. Also, all of the meters in the track pane have been switched to horizontal instead of vertical. I have never touched any of these options, like I say this all happened overnight.

Has something like this ever happened to anyone else? I'm worried now in case the project has become or is becoming "corrupted"....I've had projects go screwy on me before and I've had to start them again from scratch.

Yea, sharke, there are all kind of anomalies (to use the NASA term) w/ X2.  Last night a vocal folder suddenly "lost" the visual takes- the little clips that show up in the ubber folder.  Everything was still in the sub folders, just the visual markers above.  They came back, no harm, no foul, but it was disconcerting.  Reopening a project means rechecking the assigned outputs if anything sounds different - sometimes they change.  Lots of little quirks.  They don't seem to do any permanent damage and "fix" themselves when fixed and the project is reopened.  Because of the infrequent, random and ....elastic nature of the bugs it is impossible to report or replicate.  Which makes them hard to fix.  Hopefully the next update will solve some of these "opening" problems.

I'd back edit the project to your last remembered "good" one, save it under a different name/number and then restore it and work w/ that one.  Couldn't hurt, esp. if it does go corrupt later.

Urgh! Random oddities. Hate them! Another one that plagues me is that sometimes Sonar screws with my mouse's scroll wheel. I'll open a browser when Sonar is open and if I move the wheel the screen scrolls at a billion miles per hour. I have to restart to fix it.

Damn I was hoping that wasn't the case. I guess the good thing is that if I buy a brand new $3000 DAW then notation view should work properly on it, right?

I'm learning so much here. I'm also wondering if it would help if my room was acoustically treated. That might fix some of the GUI issues in Sonar.

Can't believe I almost fell for this BS advice which would have cost me over $1000. Turns out the problem was that I was not using the official Cakewalk mouse. I just ordered one for $999.99.
