way too compressed?

vocal too loud?

too much reverb?

These may all be personal tastes.

I agree with Bapu that it is too compressed and the vocal is too loud.
The song and performance is good.
I would produce this like a early Beatles song.  Use a clean acoustic guitar, bass, drums with your voice and then add the synth part.  Keep everything up front and present like "If I Fell"

+1 to the above suggestions.   With some work on the mix and arrangement the song would come across much better IMO.   I think you could really take advantage of that late 60's vibe that the song itself seems to have.

This has some nice potential.

I would study how to use compression though. Groove 3 has a "Compression Explained" video series that is very informative. Mixing videos wouldn't be amiss either.

Great song!

+1 to the above. Performance seems well executed, but the mix is way over-compressed.
Have faith in yourselves. Pull all the faders down, then slowly bring them back up. You'll feel it when stuff starts to pop into place. With compressors and other effects, just enough is the key.
Steve mentioned a '60s vibe, but I'm hearing something U2ish. You might have some fun playing with delays.
Work it, and don't be afraid to trash a project version. Do lots of Save As.
This has lots of potential.

You have received excellent information and guidance above as noted it is just squished to a bad place.

Can't add much to what's been said above, but there is a good song trying to get out here.
