The song that is. She wants to do a duet with me ala the Frank and Nancy Sinatra original. I would like to do the violin parts as in the original. I'm looking at Native Instruments Symphony Series String Ensemble that looks pretty powerful, but from what I hear of the demoes, it seems more suited to ah...Symphony music and movie orchestration.
Does anyone have any experience with this software? Can it be used for vocal background? Its violins right?
Any other software recommendations for this type of song?
Appreciate the helps as always!

Maybe Session Strings Pro would be more suitable?

This morning I checked my Kontakt Komplete library does have Sessions Strings. I quickly tried it out and it seems to fit the bill. I'll look into what I would gain with the Pro version.

Thanks for your input!

East West is the "go to" for movie orchestration.   I do not have it myself, so I can't give you a personal testimony, but this is what I've heard from others in the business.

After doing some more research and listening to the demoes, I decided to go with Native Instruments Symphony Series String Ensemble. Upgrading my Session Strings to Session Strings Pro would have cost $199, and although the full price of SSSE was $499, I was able to crossgrade for $299.

I used it yesterday and I'm impressed! Very easy to use with some great articulations. I'm almost done with the violin section on this song and it sounds very close to the original recording. Now if I can only find some software that will make my vocals as polished as Frank Sinatra...
