Hi,

Yep ... this afternoon, took over an hour from downtown Portland to across the bridge. Southbound was closed due to nasty accident, and traffic (get this!!!) was being diverted with a 180 degree turn on I-5 in Vancouver, to get off the freeway, and drive down Mill Plain to 205 ... and of course, the entry to 205 on Mill Plain is 7 blocks long ... as of 615PM, it was still closed.

The normal drive from PDX (downtown) to Mill Plain/Fourth Plain in Vancouver is about 10 minutes, with Craig's rock foot, and 11 minutes with my led foot, and 9 minutes on my mom's ... foot! A grand 1 to 2 miles per hour drive otherwise, on a super hot day!

Wooooottttt!!!

Moshkito..I'm not likin the Pacnw very much.  I mean, the land is gorgeous but the people are idiots (extremely naive, most never having traveled beyond the rockies) and the traffic snarls are getting to me.  I have to admit, global warming has been good to ORYGUN.  They're having warm, short winters and long, sunny ( hot) summers.  Sorry to hear about your bridge exploits.  Oh, the interestate bridge, another boondoggle.  They spent 400 million didn't they?  On a feasibility study of whether it makes sense to PLAN to build a bridge...yes the feasibility of planning to , not actually building one.  They decided no.  They'll vote to raise our taxes another gazillion dollars for some godawful nonsense but they just....can't...seem...to...fix...the obvious can they.

Hi,

The tougher part is Hwy 14 that is parallel to the river and has the entry right next to the bridge as you know ... so taking folks off the freeway, and they can't get to the other freeway ... well, I guess that 7/11 and Arco had a good day selling pop and snacks ... when I got home, which is a couple of blocks off the 205/Mill Plain exchange, all I could think of all those people in a line was ... GO GET SOME DINNER.

And today looks like it will be another hot one.

Be glad Pedro, you probably had A/C in your vehicle.  I spent FOUR days (instead of the original one) moving and, due to several issues, ended up doing it myself.  I think the coolest temp was 88 F...  Out of 96 total hours, I worked over 78 of them.  One night only getting 2.5 hours of sleep!

Then, once I was finally done, I had to go on a side business trip!  I'm am tired and sore.
