Open the drum map manager and make sure the routing in the AD2 Standard map is correct. My guess is the Out Port assignments are not going to AD2.

K so in Drum map manager, are you saying the in the settings for DM-1 in the column "Out Port" should be listing Addictive drums the out port?

The Note pane keyboard does not change when using a drum map. The drum map uses the Drum pane above the Note pane in the PRV. "Show/Hide Drum Pane" is the first option in the PFV View menu. The only way the keyboard changes in the Note pane is if the plug-in supports a specific VST opcode, for example Session Drummer and BFD offer this type of support or an assignment is made with the Note Names dialog. The note Names dialog uses entries in the .Note Names section of Master.ins.

OK, well, that explains that, to bad I guess that's an AD2 deficiency, Ok so next issue that Im getting no audio, when I assign a AD2 map to drum pain, (send output to AD2 Standard). Just to say right clicking on piano key does have quite a lot naming options.

K so I guess I have to go through entire column and and change all to AD2?, so is this where I also have to change to channel column to 15 (as I believe it says in manual documentation referenced )

I am not sure why you would want to change the channel. AD2 works fine on channel 1 even though 10 is the GM standard for drums. This is true for every drum synth I have used.

To change multiple rows see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=DrumEditor.05.html

K no sorry, misread, documentation was referring to track 15, when loading AD2 template.
K gotta go back and do some homework on drum pain, LOL. (or just remember diatonic note kit piece)

Thanks for your patience and help

I don't think drum maps work on "simple instrument tracks". You have to use them on "midi tracks".

Yes, drum maps work on instrument tracks. I detailed how to apply a drum map in lucky number 13 above.

K thanks,
I got audio working by reassigning output columns, and also displaying kit piece in drum pane, now I got to read up on using drum pane, and what advantage it may have over regular PRV.
Cheers, Thanks again

Some time back I followed the appallingly complex way to get the AD2 drum maps right and it worked. Then it stopped working; I do not know why. I can now only get what everything has; General MIDI etc percussive and Diatonic etc melodic.

I tried going through the process as far as deleting AD2 Standard Map and AD2 Track.cwx, and then replacing them with the ones originally extracted. But opening a new file based on AD2 Project template still leaves me without the AD2 drum map.

The AD2 drum map is assigned to DM1 in the Drum Map Manager. The drum names are all there and the Port/channel is 1-1-Addictive Drums 2 1/1.

Thanks for any help.

Goodday
Im not sure we're talking about the same thing, but Im almost sure at one time I had the AD2 kit piece names assigned to the note key names in the PRV (meaning not in the drum grid pane), maybe it was the earlier AD version, or selected general midi names, or maybe I was dreaming again, LOL. The reason I think this is Ive never used the drum grid pain to edit, or even or tried setting it up before today, but seem to recall kit pieces assigned to note names. In any case, it would be nice if you could even easily manually add your own text to a field in line with PRV piano keys/midi key number, guess I'm just dreaming again, LOL.

Cheers
John
