I am having a problem with volume resetting back to a pre determined level no matter what I set the fader to. I am working with somebody elses midi creation. I have looked in the sysx data and the event list for a midi 7 control and deleted them. where else should I look. Any help woulld be appreciated.

If there is a volume envelope on the track, then this will control the fader.

You say it's "automated" which makes me assume you have inserted a volume automation envelope yourself (?). If you don't want the track to follow your automation, uncheck "Automation read".
