  • WHY can't we still not change all the COLORS in SONAR X1? (p.3)

No. What I am saying is, in todays world, an audio host should cater for various screen resolutions.  I think this is a simple concept to understand, and one that shouldn't be that difficult to implement for a corporation the size and financial muscle as RolCake. Pay some graphic designers to do the job once and for all and stop alienating those in "minority".

Even laptops comes in FULL HD today

Do check what resolution all mid-price 15" widescreen laptops come at, you will see that they come at less than the recommended X1 resolution. So anyone who wants to buy a mid range, off the shelf laptop to run X1, will have a problem with the oversize X1 UI.

People that don't use that today need to update

I'm not sure I want get rid off my laptop and buy one with bigger screen resolution just yet. It would be easier to abandon Cakewalk and choose a host that makes the best use of available screen space instead.

WHY can't we still not change all the COLORS in SONAR X1 like in SONAR 8.5?

Console view .. the grey borders..etc...

I bet you'd like to change the size of the fonts too.
Absolutely sure... and I don't get it WHY and it is only Cakewalk that still use minimal fonts and overall to small Window layout?
X1 are better but some things are still to small.

PLease Cakewalk, We are not using 800 X 600 screen resolution any more.

We are using 1920 x1200 or 1920 x 1080 screens.
Come on and make it overall bigger otherwise you need to start include this tool in all your BOX versions.

Add me to the list of those wanting to change the fonts.
I'm going blind looking at this at 1920x1080 on twin 23 inch LCD monitors.

And if I up the text size in Display under Windows 7 x64 to say 125%, the ProChannel won't display some of the preset names in it;s little window

Cakewalk is taking after Henry Ford's example with the Model T: "Customers can have it in any color they want as long as its black."

Hey, Panu!  Are you there?  I have to go back to X1d, since X2a does not work on my computer.  My main beef with X1 was the damn color of the skin.  I would love to use your SonarMods to change that, but I still can't make any sense of your website (which is why I never modded X1 in the first place).

Put yourself in my shoes--a musician who doesn't know that much about computers and nothing about programming and code.  Your website gives me no idea how to proceed with modding X1.  It seems to be written for those who already know.  What do I do first?  What do I do second?  The website contains no directions in order of procedure.  Can you just send me a private message if you don't want to post anything?

Saxon1066, have you disabled option to send private messages from others? Register at sonarmods.com and send me private message there to get first aid. This forum's private message box is not comfortable to use because it's too small and formatting does work with my browser. Very first steps: register and log in, open this link: http://www.sonarmods.com/...x.php/topic,527.0.html and you'll see download links for the latest 32 and 64 bit versions of Duckbar. Duckbar is the program you'll use for everything. It can tweak your SONAR so much your mother would not recognize it anymore. Anyway, after Duckbar is downloaded and installed, open Customize | Mod Patcher from the main menu and you will see all the available mods. Please wait until the next version is available, though, because it will have a new First Run Wizard to help newbies set up Duckbar correctly. -Panu (and sorry about lack of formatting)

Thank you, panup!  This is already very helpful.  I wasn't quite sure what Duckbar was, although I've been to many bars.

Yes, I have registered with SonarMods, but will check my e-mail preferences.  Looking forward to the new version!!!

Here, here. My favorite color might be blue, but to see it everywhere (maybe I just don't like this particular shade) makes me feel a little nauseous. I especially want to change the color of the "LCD" screen.
