f I have 2 midi tracks, Track 1 in PRV and track 6 in a drum pane view, Is there any way I can "overlap" them to see if the beats I want to have aligned are? I am editing some drums and keys and want to visually and manually "snap" some hits together. This was a live recording originally and has no tempo map and I do not want to set one.

You can select more than one MIDI track to view in PRV, but I do not think you can view one as a drum track and one as standard PRV, it is one or the other.

While in thePRV, select Tracks > Pick Tracks, and you can pick and choose which track, or tracks you want to see.

Actually, I'm talking out of my backside and I need to check on my above statement. I've just realised that there is now a "drum pane" in the PRV so I'm off to the manual to see how it works.

Apologies

You mean like this?

Yeah, that's what I am seeing, and I can't get my head around it. I've got my drum pane up but I'm seeing standard piano roll notes and not the drum map diamonds. I'm ploughing through the manual now, but it's not helping...

Yes! how did you do that??

This is quite simple.

Select the tracks you want to view via the Tracks drop down:

To select non-contiguous tracks, use the ctrl key, use shift for a range of contiguous tracks

Then, if you can only see one track, drag down the divider so the other track is revealed.

Also, whichever track you select on the right hand side using the Track Pane becomes the active track for editing (and also becomes the track receiving the Focus in Track View)

Thank you! I didn't know about cnt/click for non contiguous tracks .

I'm going to have to get into this myself, but I'd kinda given up on drum maps a while back because I found it  bit time consuming creating and editing them.

The first time you create or edit a drum map it can really seem daunting and arcane, but the more you do it, the easier and more intuitive it becomes.

I spent some time a while back creating about 35 different maps to control Keyswitch data for EWQLSO's Play engine - the whole thing took about 2 evenings.

I found the section in Scott Garrigus's Sonar POWER book to be extremely helpful for my first, faltering steps to understand how they worked
