I just upgraded to X2...my A Pro work perfectly in X1. So far I cannot get it to do ANYTHING at all. I am able to contol the A Pro within X2 via the A Pro interface, but using the A Pro to control anything in X2 is a no go. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, deleted the controller and readded it, etc...and still NOTHING. I have also reset the controller to factory and that did nothing. Am I missing something here? It is connected via USB. Any ideas orhelp would be GREATLY appreciated! I love the unit and X1 was awesome, but I'm having a rough start. I am running Windows 7 64 bit if that has any baring on it...thanks in adavance!

The only thing I can say for now is that my A-Pro 800 controls X2a (Essential) perfectly on Win 7 32 bit.
You don't seem to be doing anything wrong, but let me ask these just in case:

When you launch Sonar, does the Act button on the A-Pro light up and the display say "Receiving"?
Which preset do you use in the A-Pro control surface plugin? Does "Tracks/FX/Synths/Utility 2" work?

I will have too see if it does...I don't believe I remember seeing it say that. I am guessing that would mean that it is not installed or configured correctly?It's just strange, because I was able to make it do whatever I wanted in X1....I will check again when I get home from work...thanks for responding. I will get back with you!

Frostysnake,

1) In Preferences, midi, control surface do you have the A-PRO set correctly:

Control = A-PRO
Midi in = A-PRO 2
Output = A-PRO

2) In Preferences under midi what devices do you have selected (sorry no working question mark on this laptop).

In changing to X2 I did a clean install on a new machine and had similar problems with A-Pro. I found that with midi in also selected from my VS in preferences - devices it created conflict with the A-PRO control. Removing the VS as a midi in device resolved all my problems and the A-PRO now works exactly as it should.

Hope this helps.

OK...it is not saying receiving on the A Pro and I do see the midi icon in the task bar light up when I do anything with the controller or within X2...I'm lost here...

As far as devices...all I have is the A Pro and a UM-1. I have the A Pro input and output selected...this is not rocket science...I am about to lose it! UGH!

OK...well for some ****ed reason there were 2 input drivers...A Pro 1 and A Pro 2...Well..logic would tell one to go with A pro 1...WRONG. A Pro 2...if anyone can explain this to me, I'd like to know, as I have spent 2 hours over the course of 2 days trying to figure out why this thing would not work...I feel a little stupid. :-\ Thanks for the help guys! I would be lost without you guys to help me along! David
