So I had some .cwp files that I made with an old Sonar (it was right before X1, I forget). Anyways, I open it up with X2A. So I have a bunch of tracks. My plan was to take the MIDI data and drag it into some of the newer synths. I create a new dimension pro track. Here's the strange thing. I go to the piano roll and it works. I can hear the dimension pro synth just fine. I drag some of the MIDI from the old data and drag it over to the MIDI of Dimension Pro and it stops working. There were no automations in the data, just notes. I go to the piano roll and I can't hear it play either. It's as if the synth shut off. I create another dimension pro synth and it works. Drag the midi data and it stops. I'm not able to get it back. Closed it and reopened to no avail. I create another dimension pro track and check the routing. It's identical to the routing of the others. What's interesting is that the midi lane shows there is activity on the VU meter but the audio lane is completely blank. It's as if it's not communicating with the audio lane anymore (you know how VSTi's have two lanes). What am I missing? :)

Okay it gets more interesting. It's only doing it with Dimension Pro. I use VSTi synth, Alchemy, and it's fine.

1) Midi Channel (use Event List to Check) mismatch between MIDI file and DimPro?
2) Instrument range of MIDI notes versus sample range of whatever you are using in DimPro?

I tried several Dim.Pro instruments with wide range. (like piano) The strange thing is that the moment I move the data into the track, the piano roll stops working too. I can't click on the piano to hear the dimension pro sounds. I'll check the MIDI channels and let you know if that helped!

Event List was a winner! The midi channel was correct but I saw some non-midi note data. I just filtered out the notes and deleted all extra data! Thanks!
