Hi, I am using Sonar X1 Producer on Windows 7 with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24. I have not been able to get it to work right with Sonar X1. When I go to the Input and Output drivers I see them listed but they are greyed out. Can anyone help me figure this out? I would be very appreciative. Thanks! Moe

Guessing this is an ASIO issue. Did you disable you internal sound card in SONAR?

Thanks for the response. I do have the internal sound card disabled in Windows.

What is Edit > Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording | Driver Mode: set to? Are there any inputs and outputs available from any device?

on the front of my focusrite unit.. it has a switch for outputs 3/4 .. and in the asio driver.. it also has that.. make sure the front panel matches the software setting

there is another dial on the front of my saffire 6 for monitoring / recording.. that might not be set right.

but go into the audio input / output bit make sure ONLY the focusrite is set / ticked and nothing else.

Yes. They are labeled Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver. The input says Microphone (Saffire Audio) 1. The output says Speakers (Saffire Audio) 1. I try using these but have not had good performance. There are 8 greyed out inputs and 4 greyed out outputs.

Is this a new interface?

Did you install the latest drivers from the Focusrite website? If you installed from the disc that is likely the problem.

If this is not the case try restarting Sonar and check your preferences again.

If that doesn't work reboot your computer then check again.

If that doesn't work uninstall and reinstall the driver and check again.

This is all assuming that you have already set up your Audio preferences correctly within Sonar and the Focusrite MixControl software. If you are unsure then read the entries in the Sonar and Saphire manuals and try again.

Good luck.

Doh... are there checkmarks beside those other devices? If so uncheck them and the Saffire stuff should become available.

un-tick the generic thing.. only use the focusrite one.

I don't have switches for outputs or recording on the front of my Focusrite. I only have the monitor volume, headphone volume and 2 gain controls for the 2 front inputs. Unfortunately I can't check anything in input/output in Sonar. They are all greyed out. Thanks for the help though.
