The Last Time I Died

Written and performed by Jan Eiken, Ed Kocol and Daryl Greenway (The Forum Monkeys)
Guest backing vocals: Elizabeth Greenway

V1
Flat-lining is no fun at all
Even if there ain't much I recall
Thanks to so many people
I was revived
I thank you for each day I have survived
Life is precious don't you dwell in the past
Savor every sandwich
As it could be your last
These are some things that I've wanted to do
Since the last time I died
Chorus:
Since the last time I died
Life has seen some changes
The simple things astound me
Seeing them profoundly
There's beauty all around me
Since the last time I died
V2
I'd love to write a novel
Or a big hit song
One that everybody wants to sing along
I'd love to find some cash to pay my bills or give it all away
These are the things I'd do
Since the last time I died
Chorus
Since the last time I died
Life has seen some changes
The simple things astound me
Seeing them profoundly
There's beauty all around me
Since the last time I died
Middle bit
I want to tell friends and family
just how important they are to me
Without them I wouldn't have made it this far
They've been so good to me
I'd like to build a house where they can stay
Just like my Dad did back in the day
...and invite everyone to come and partay - that's just the way I am
Chorus
Since the last time I died
Life has seen some changes
The simple things astound me
Seeing them profoundly
There's beauty all around me
Since the last time I died

The vocals are really nice, Daryl did an awesome job (Mrs. Brown you've got a lovely daughter...) and the mix is pristine. Really nice job on this. The one to worry about is the next time we die. It's puts all of our other problems in perspective, just ask Robin Williams.

WOW , Forum Monkeys that was great …super creative on all fronts ..
this tune had a nice early Beatles type of vibe mixed in with a modern contemporary production ...

Robbie, Kenny, and Bill,

Thanks so much for listening and your comments.  Let us all avoid the "next time" for as long as possible.

Yeah, let's do! It comes for us all unfortunately :-( I want to see my son graduate, he's 11, if I can make it another 7 years? Then the good Lord can take me when he needs to send me "south..." :-( I just hope it's past that far out. He's started to learn to play guitar :-D I explained music theory to him already? It went like this, "there is no H."

Nice job all round guys and girls, interesting lyrics put a smile on this furry face.

No obvious crits perhaps a tad more slap on the kick but that would be nit picking, I can feel the kick but when the most illustrious bass is playing I can not quite hear it.

A round of applause to you all
