"Steinberg has decided to offer all Cakewalk Sonar Platinum and Professional customers a dedicated 50% off welcome offer on Cubase Pro." More here.

Cubase Pro 9.5 Full Version 579 €
50 % off = 289,5 €
Crossgrade price = 289 €

So it's not very "dedicated offer", it's their "Competitive Crossgrade" which was already for sale before they made that announcement. But whatever... that offer is good enough for me. I will not isolate my OS, other software and plugins from the internet just to keep on using abandoned DAW. I have projects to finish.

And for those who keep on sayin' that it's too early to jump ship... let me tell you: this ship [Cakewalk Sonar] has already sunken. You will notice it sooner or later. S/S Microsoft will not sail to rescue anyone.

I think you may be right, but I'm not seeing any water around my ankles just yet so I don't see the point in jumping off a dry deck into the cold, wet ocean. In any case, I have a hunch that Sonar and other Cake software assets have already gone to Microsoft.

Why do you think assets have gone to Microsoft?
