I've been recording guitar with SHS for about 7 years with no problems, currently with SHS6. I recently upgraded my Line 6 Toneport UX1 to the PodFarm UX1. So here's the problem: even when recording at very hot levels, I can't hear my guitar while recording. Playback is plenty loud, clipping galore, I just can't hear myself while recording, guitar or bass. Not a major problem, but I would like to hear what I'm doing while I'm doing it. Any suggestions? There's probably a setting in the interface's software to monitor recording, or a knob/switch on the actual interface.

Are you firing up PodFarm independently?  You can monitor from PodFarm standalone and shut off echo within Sonar.

{edit} Another thing I've done is create a separate bus that I name "headphones" that bypasses the Master.  Then send the track I'm recording to the "headphones" bus and turn down the master.

I just recently learned about the Solo Dim feature though, so now I'm thinking I'll just click the DIM button, then solo the track to record to it; so the rest of the tracks are still audible but not as loud.

Thanks for the help, fellas. I found my solution in PodFarm's mixer view. I'll have to tweak it to my satisfaction, but at least I can work with it. Forward!
