Have tried to use v vocal for the first time today. I am using Sonar X2a Producer.

When I select a vocal clip and try to create a vvocal clip from the menu, nothing happens.
Have checked the sytem files and there is a vvocal directory located at Program Files/Cakewalk/Shared Dxi/VVocal. within this are 3 dll files, cronus, VpEnc & VPSoloDec. The VST scan is set to pick up this folder.

Can't understand why vvocal is not being recognised. Can anyone help please.

Thanks

So you selected part of a vocal track, right clicked the selected area, clicked on V-Vocal-Create V-Vocal Clip and did the V-Vocal interface open up?

Don't select the whole track, try it with a couple of bars selected and see if that works.

Computer specs (CPU and RAM)? What version of Windows? 32 or 64-bit? What soundcard and what driver mode are you using?

Try re-running the VST Scan.

Thanks Daveny5 for your reply. I have now managed to get it working.
The Cronus.dll file was not being scanned into the correct category in the Plug In Manager. Under "DirectX Audio Effects (DX)" I added a scan path to  the cronus.dll file location so that this is scanned into this category. Also any audio file that you want to create a VVocal on has to be "Bounced to Clips" first.
Therfore if you highlight the audio clip, right click and select Bounce to Clips, then right click again and select Create VVocal Clip. This will then open the VVocal editor.

Thanks

Also any audio file that you want to create a VVocal on has to be "Bounced to Clips" first. Not sure why you say this. I've used VVocal several times and never had to bounce to clip BEFORE using it. It is, on the other hand, a good idea to bounce the "fixed" track to a new track once you are finished editing the track.

No it doesn't. Not sure why you have to do that, but I don't.

I also don't believe its a DX plug-in.

V-Vocal isn't a plugin at all - it's a process which you apply to selected audio clips

Not sure why the OP is attempting to get it to show up in Plugin Manager, that's not how it works
