  • Map transport controls to M-Audio Oxygen 25?

Just a quick question and hoping the answer is simple otherwise I'll hold of and dig through the manual.

I just want to get the transport buttons on my Oxygen 25 to activate... well the basic transport functions in Sonar.

I've manage to get synths and stuff to respond to knobs by right clicking and using the MIDI learn but the actual elements in Sonar don't seem to work that way.

If this needs to be done through ACT or some other convoluted process I'll just just research it but if there is a quick trick I'm all ears.

Thanks.

I use the "Generic control surface" to map my ZEDs transport controls. It's very similar to setting up an ACT surface using the learn function. That works well for me and I also have its rotaries, faders, and buttons assigned via ACT so the two different surfaces co-exist on the same controller no problem.

Thanks, Karl but I guess I'm gonna have to dig into the manual as I just don't know how to work that stuff yet. ACT confused the heck out of me the first time I tried to use it many moons ago. Was kind of hoping there was something similar to the Right Click > MIDI Learn type stuff that seem to be there for other parameters. It's not really a big deal either. I was just thinking it might be cool to use the little buttons on my thingy instead of the mouse/keyboard.

Cheers and happy holidays.

If you have the SWA Complete Sonar X2 video there's a video in the setup chapter (0:35:02) that covers control surface setup, including a unique surface (MCU), as well as both ACT, and the generic surface.

If not there's an X1 video on my youtube page that covers ACT setup and is still relevant to X2. The generic surface learn function is very similar.
