Melda gives you a choice.  Waves always scares me. I've added a plugin and removed my other ones with their installer before.  Still the IK one works like malware but it's only with the T-racks stuff.   I'm still on V3 with T-racks and Amplitube.    I will eventually get more of the Tracks when the deal comes along.  Usually the 3rd party vendors have better offers than I don't even use my jam points.

You can easily delete or better yet move demos to a demo folder. That'll make your plugins list a little cleaner.
What somewhat bothers me is the same issue with AT4. The modules I do and don't own are listed together which makes it very hard to browse for a desired module. Still haven't figured how to hide unwanted entries from lists.

Hi there, I have done this by disabling the demos in plugin manager. Still a bit of a pain and you need to know which ones you have or don't have but at least it makes your list cleaner.

I like most of the Ik stuff,
but it´s imo like you  said: there is no control about what gets installed.
Also the "restore my gear" function of the CS is not really controlable.
That is like getting malware.

Yeah I don't like it either. Since I make my own plugin list it isn't something I see very often. I spent a lot of time getting my system the way I wanted it and something you can't really control is not welcome. Having said that, I must be far enough from the discovery of this that it doesn't matter much anymore. It has seemed to be harmless so far. Still don't like it, though.

I've wasted time trying to find a plug-in I actually payed for with IK, and I haven't had the time to waste any more time removing the crud.

Looks like Melda installs presets for all plugins regardless of what you install. This doesn't bother me as I have the big bundle. Discussion was here on KVR.

I don't like it either.  Imagine if all the devs did this, and you had to trudge through a ridiculously long list of inactive plugs to get to the ones you actually use?

They make great FX plugins, no doubt, but their programmers need to find a way to hide the inactive plugs.  When I see coding like this, I think "lazy" or "inefficient" or "idiot upper management".
