I've wasted time trying to find a plug-in I actually payed for with IK, and I haven't had the time to waste any more time removing the crud.

For future reference, your registered products are listed in your IK User Area http://www.ikmultimedia.com/userarea under "My Products" and you can also see what gear you have in Custom Shop under Gear --> My Gear.

If you still end up having issues or confusion while using these resources, IK Support is available at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/mi/ or you can PM me and I will see what I can find out the the best of my abilities.

I think you're missing the point.  The fact that CS installs EVERYTHING, it ends up on the "List" of
VST's, regardless of whether or not you "own" it, and that's a headache, and NOT one WE should
have to endure.  ONLY what you own should be installed.   End of story.  It REALLY is THAT simple.

I was answering the post I quoted directly, not the thread's OP.  I did not miss the point of the post I quoted and replied to, nor of the thread.  The latter point has been made by some and relayed past, present, and will relayed be in the future as necessary.

Edit - Meant to also say thank you to Fleer for marking the aforementioned reply as helpful.

In the context of the conversation, THAT is what he was talking about.
Wasting time trying find out what it is that you DO own...

When you open the VST list ALL the IK plugins are there...and if you're not
quite sure which ones you OWN, it's hard to "find" the ones you DO...and you
WASTE TIME when you pick one, and then it's one you don't own, and have to
go back, remove it, pick another...etc...ad nauseum...whereas, if ONLY the ones
you DO own are there...there is "No issue"...

YES you did miss the POINT.

Since Melda software is being somehow implicated as a bad actor, I must add my 2 cents.  The Melda installer presents itself as a list of all its various plugins.  You can check or uncheck each of them, or you can check or uncheck a box for all or none.  The installer for the whole of the plugins is small: around 120k (amazing!).  If you install something that you have not purchased, it runs in demo mode for something like a week.  If you don't want to see a list of plugins you do not own, selectively check what you own in the installer.
Melda is one of the good guys!  You will search long and far to find a better, cleaner service.  I own the bundle which I purchased after buying several individual plugins, so I willingly declare my loyality.

I believe you indeed do what you can, Peter, within the confines of your company's policies. Which is also why most of us criticize IK's policy, but we do not criticize you as a person. We love having you here. Your job ain't easy, for sure.

Also the Melda installer "remembers" which ones you've ticked to install from last time - so it really is not a problem. They are definitely one of the good guys.

I hate the IKM method too...

Glad to see some people get it. My VSTs are in the program files folders.  It's a lot of clicks and deleted.  It's like those old freeware packages where you don't read the yada yada and then you have to reset your web page and delete those unusual search engines.

I guess the simple solution is to buy a license of all of those T-Racks plugs. It is in the future when I get more money.
