Ditto, I jumped ship back when Studio One 3 was released, never looked back (nothing to look back for now I guess)

An Unmarked Place
I wanted to love Studio One, but my heart just wasn't in it. It's not a bad multitrack recording platform, but its MIDI sequencing capabilities are below par. It doesn't even record SysEx, which makes it unusable with my Korg Kronos. No where do they mention they have a crippled MIDI implementation.

I've recently gotten into Harrison Mixbus. It has a lovely, console-oriented workflow, great sound and decent MIDI capabilities. It's based on Arduour, so there's a reduced risk of vendor lockin. It's also dirt-cheap at the moment: $29 with the Black Friday sales.

Though as I mentioned, I mainly sequence and record in hardware now. It just works and the limitations actually breed creativity for me.

Nothing compares to Sonar.  Nothing.  Nope.  Zip.
I just spent the whole day with Studio One 3.5.
I will continue to peck away at it, but what it lacks is simply not gonna cut it for me.

They may be there, somewhere, but I have not found them yet:
Comping mode
Pro Channel
Multidock
tons of little things...

Sonar's GUI smokes this cartoonish little newcomer.
Sonar is gold, and we had it in our hands.
Right now, there is no other choice for me.

...although Maschine 2 is lookin good.

Checked out Studio One.... Hate the gaudy, cartoony look of it. I, personally, love the Concrete Limiter, the CA-2A, the Quad Curve EQ, and the Console Emulator (Neve setting). It's gonna be real hard to replace those, for my particular sound.

I will be looking at Reaper, Studio One or dare I even mention "alls I have" Protools! Anyone care to comment?

I'm going to look into Cubase.

I was impressed with some of the notation features, plus the person whom I record with the most is a classically trained musician so it looks the best fit.

Just demo them all, and don't give in to familiarity, ie, get pissed off because you can't do 'x' in a product you have only been using for a couple of minutes as quick as you can in something you have been using for years, give whatever you try the time and effort it and you deserve. We all have different needs, the only one who can tell you what is best for you is you. demo demo demo, then demo some more, pick what suits you the best.

Tried the Presonus demo and instantly did not care for the less than refined look. Plus it looks like its missing some advanced features that SONAR has. Guess I will give Cubase a go now..

It seems I'm staying with the Sonar. StudioOne is not such an easy way to escape, as described above. After several hours of use, I came to the fact that in Sonar many things in editing midi are done much, much easier. Sonar - is great DAW!

I will continue to use (investigate) the Reaper and StudioOne as an additional daw, but the first hours of getting to know them, especially with regard to midi editing - is PAIN
I advise you not to rush to throw out money, install free versions of programs to begin with, in order to understand what will be encountered in real work. Until the end of Black Friday there are a couple more days you still have time to part with the money :)
