Some people talk about law cases about returning money payed recently for subscription. But is it only me, who see that there is possible some some signs of criminal behavior of Gibson owners, fraud particularly. They said that you have lifetime subscription, and get a lot of money for it, obviously knowing in before, that they would stop it this year. I'm not nearly law specialist, but, in common sense, it is the case not for arbitration, but more likely for criminal court, joking aside. What do you think?

I think you need to be careful what you write, on a forum owned by Gibson..

Don´t think that to file a lawsuit will be succesful , cause:
- The Eula
- will go against  Cakewalk´s CEO aso
- Gibson has more and better paid lawyers

But sure , some of our forum lawyers can proof.

I read this in the google news:
As I see Gibson has a problem. They have to pay about 500 Millions debts in 2018. Moody has set them on CAA3 - bacause they cannot pay it.
So they will focus on their hardware and guitars. They have no money for development of Cakewalk.
But thats the problem. Nobody wants to refinances the debt, because all financiers believe that no one wants to buy there guitars and hardware in future. Gibson says the young people buy DAWs like Reaper - but not SONAR.
So it is possible that the name of "Gibson" is sold in one year. And Gibson maybe dead.
A big mistake was to buy Phillips.
And a big mistake was to buy Cakewalk.

Its likely that if Gibson (not to defend them) didn't buy Cakewalk, Roland would have shut the doors 4 years ago.

If I felt that Cakewalk/Gibson owed me money, I would file a complaint for "non providal of service" with my credit card company.  You have to be able to back up the expectations of what you purchased (lifetime is vague).
This was standard procedure the TWO times that airlines went bankrupt when before I got my flights.

I don't know if Gibson has acted against the law, but for sure it's a moral fault.

At least Roland didn't ask us to give money in advance and then shut the door, the firm was just sold, it was within the law and completely moral.

What do you hope to gain? You already have the best DAW going.  What other updates would really matter?  The software is yours

No. When the servers are down, you can not activate or re-authorize the software after a Windows Update (Creator), changing hardware (a new SSD) or by changing the dynamik IP-adress in a network.
So the software is in DEMO-mode and I can not save my work.
