Hey guys, thanks again for the suggestions, I found out that Sonar's included soft synths was the problem, I could import a midi track to work with other 3rd party soft synths though.
CJaysMusic 1. Yeap, I tried it with some other soft synths like TruePianos, EzKeys, Trillian but worryingly not any of Sonar's Dimension, String Section or Rapture. (I did go through a couple of patches with them to check.) Weird.
2. Midi tracks are all routed correctly, I've triple checked it. Here's how it's routed.
I've inserted the soft synth as 'All Mono Outputs' plus the midi track. Before I imported the midi file, I ran through on the piano roll to check if there's signal, there is. Moving on, seeing as I'm using a pre-recorded midi file, the input of the Midi track is set to Omni, outputs set to the two mono channels of the soft synths that I'm using. The synth's mono channels are routed to Master. I hit play, the midi track levels seemed to work but there's nothing from the synth's mono channels.
3. I tried recording new notes with my midi controller, it works well even with Sonar's soft synths but I'm still worried as to why I'm not being able to import midi and get them to play.
daveny5 I've set it to the two mono channels of my soft synths.
robert_e_bone Hello, I took a look at the Event Viewer. I tried removing the CC messages such as RPN, Control, Wheel, and Patch but it still no luck.
Haddox Removed it but it still doesn't work.
Guitarpirma Did that, still no luck. :(
So far, I've found out that it works for one of my 3rd party soft synths but not for Sonar's String Section, Dimension and Rapture. Weirdly, before I imported the midi track in, it works but not after. Also, even if I deleted that midi track and tried playing something on my midi controller, there's nothing from the synth's mono sources at all, just the midi track.
Hopefully, I'm not confusing anyone here,
Best regards,
John
