I thought this was gone, but all that appears to be different is that the lanes don't have solo lighted yet not doing anything...
 
I recorded 7 passes of a song-length loop and when I stopped, I had 14 lanes. the first 7 were empty.
 
Anyone else still seeing this?

Did you  have the show take lanes button switched to on (Bottom left of Track's track pane)?
 
I've  found that if you press this button first before recording, the extra take lanes do not appear.

I kept trying to open the track Lanes before recording as I remembered that from the X2 release itself, but the Lane button never shows a change so I can't tell if/when lanes are open...
 
I thought this was fixed???

If you press the button it should turn blue and show the first take lane.
 
I've not tried doing it any other war since I found that fix, so I've not tested if it's different with X2a - it's just become a habit.  I'll try if I have time, but just really busy at the moment.

I just tried again and I must have managed to have the take lanes open. this time there were no extras as the work around helped in X2 (original)...
 
...and I could have sworn that the Lane button was working the other day. Clicking on an empty track lit the button and exposed a single empty lane... But not today???
 
Maybe I better re-boot yet again? <sigh>...
