Excuse my ignorance... what's FDM? Is that a download manager? Again another topic I know next to nothing about. :-/

Cool, Steve. I actually looked at downloading a vid from youtube for the first time acouple weeks ago and couldn't find the option... then when I googled for an answer I saw a bunch of people freaking out about how they disabled that function.
I think what they changed was that before, once you'd set it up in Real Player, any time you hovered your mouse pointer over a video or an online audio player, a small option window would open prompting you to either 'Download this video' or 'Download this clip'.

Now, however, you must have Real Player open and use their web browser to open the web page the video or audio is on. The 'Download' option will now appear as it used to in any browser.

Here's how I do it:
  • Copy the URL of the web page you want to download the audio or video from
  • Open Real Player and select: File > New > New Web Browser (or use Ctrl+N)
  • Paste the web page's URL into the address bar of the RP browser
  • Click on either "Download this clip" for audio, or "Download this video" for video.
  • If you only get the option to download 'video', but you only want the audio:
    • Download the video (by default, the video is saved in the Real Player Library)
    • Right click on the video icon in the RP Library and select 'Convert To' - a new window opens with all the conversion options

    I don't think Pyro 5 will work on Windows 7 or 8.

Pyro Audio Creator is a pretty decent product. I've used it to digitize all of my old cassettes. Its a time consuming process if you want to take the time and split up all the tracks and index them and label the tracks, but it gets the job done and it will use your Sonar VST plug-ins (most of them, not sure about all).  I just wish they'd update it to 64-bit.

    @steve... Awesome. Bookmarked.

@scook... I'll have to check into that. More for feeding the brain beast than anything I guess. FF has always served me well as far as downloads. In fact up until I joined this forum I didn't even realize download managers were a thing.

uh... so, perhaps a dumb question but does the F in FDM stand for Firefox or something else?

@Dave... I'm really hoping it will work well with R-Mix.

And yeah... a 64 bit update would be nice.

Ah yes. Sorry. I should have known that. Got my brain into too many things today. I should probably get back to reading my X2 manual. Cheers.

I tried it and it doesn't. Audio Creator is still a 32-bit app and R-Mix is only a 64-bit plug-in. Maybe we need to petition Cakewalk to make a 64-bit version of PAC.

Damn. Oh well. I just hope it'll do some of the other crap I want it to do.
