I did not realize the Guitar Rig was LE. Is any GRig included with Sonar X2? Anywhere the upgrade serial number for full GRig 4 or 5? Thank you.

Guitar Rig LE was dropped in X2. X2 comes with a lite version of TH2. If you want the full version of Guitar Rig, it is available from NI.

Thank you. What is TH2?

Another ampsim. Similar to Guitar Rig but made in Italy instead of Germany.

TH2 is a pretty slick amp sim made by a company called Overloud (they make Breverb and some other fancy goodies included in X2 as well). I like it better than GR actually.

As far as GR Sonar LE... well GR costs some dough. The included version was more to promo it to get people to buy the full version. Same with TH2 but the TH@ Sonar version is far more usable than the GR version IMO.

Oh... but by owning that version of GR you qualify for the Upgrade price to GR5 which is $99 (sometimes goes on special for less). I think it's usually $200 so it's a good thing to have around. Keep the serial numbers.

aaaaand just want to make sure you upgraded to the full version of GR Sonar. When you first load up the GR that came with Sonar it's got nothing in it. You have to create a Native Instruments account, register your GR with the included serial numbers then download the updates in your account to get at the content.

Just in case you didn't know that. Also always use Run As Administrator when installing/registering GR.

Cheers.

Yeah, thanks, I did that. I did not realize that was LE.

I just found TH2. I am a keyboard player so I know nothing about the guitar- taking some guitar lessons. Is the TH2 goind to expire like GRig 3 did and now offers to "Run Demo"? Did anybody try GRig 5? I could not even tell I had a LE vrsion of 4. lol.

No, the Sonar version of TH2 will not expire. It just doesn't have all the content the full version does... which I own. Although the extra stuff in the full version is cool the Sonar version is more than useable... unlike the GR that came with Sonar which IMO really really stunk.

TH2 Producer does not expire. I own Guitar Rig 5. I prefer the effects in it over TH2 but it could be because I have more experience using Guitar Rig. That said, I find myself using the effects in ampsim products less relying on other VSTs for effects.
