Altiverb is not 64-bit and is a buggy mess if I try to run it in BitBridge:

Am I missing any 64-bit reverb options? What do other 64-bit users do for reverb?

Yes, you're missing that current version of Altiverb is 7 and supports 64 bit. it's a matter of waiting patiently, I agree the 64 bit has been a pain for all of us but it pays in the long run.

You do realize this thread was started in March of last year right?

Obviously I didn't, my oversight, didn't pay attention to the original date.

Works fine in Reaper 64bit, dont know about Sonar x1?

Hi Oto...

a big +1 from me here... I just downloaded the free 64bit/32bit version the other day and tested it with some of the IR's I have... It sounds quite good. I'm only 32bit here myself tho I run the 64bit engine in Sonar, but it claims to be 64bit so it should run native on a 64bit system (ie without bitbridge)...

Keni
Yes Keni, It does.
I'm use it myself and it works perfect in SONAR X1 x64. It is extremely stable, never crashed a single time yet.

Really surprised the new kings of algorithmic reverb haven't been brought up more. The others are really 2nd rate by comparison with the advancements these two guys have made for ITB verbs.

I use UAD EMT Plate 140--and have for years--works fine in 64bit.

I just tested the Lexicon LXP reverb plug in Sonar X1c.

It sounds good. Really good. Unfortunately, it's also $524 and uses iLok.

However, the current version (Jan. 18) is NOT 64-bit; it is a 32-bit plug-in.

After testing this and a few others, my advice is to just use the Sonitus Reverb x64, and wait for the Lexicon LXP to develop their 64-bit version and lower their price.

But oh . . . it does sound sweet.

Spaces from EastWest is 64-bit but it's a buggy mess in X1a:

I have an interest in Spaces at the current sale price.  Then I saw this posting from 2011.

Can anyone expand on the "buggy mess" comment?  What types of problems?  Have these since been resolved?

Are others using Spaces in Sonar X1 or X2?

Thanks!

From what I can surmise from the dump he posted near the beginning of the thread, he was having memory issues of some sort.  It's too bad that people kept recommending that he buy this reverb or that, when I suspect he had a problem with his system that needed to be sorted out first.  I wonder if he ever figured out what was going on?  Anyway, assuming your system is stabile, I don't think you would have the same sorts of problems that the OP was having, so I would say 'take the plunge'.

For the life of me, I can't find a good 64-bit Reverb.

What I Own:

Spaces from EastWest is 64-bit but it's a buggy mess in X1a:
http://www.soundsonline.com/Spaces

iZotope Nectar is 64-bit  has a "so so" Reverb, but it is not nearly as robust as Altiverb, Wizooverb or other classic 32-bit reverbs:
http://izotope.com/products/audio/nectar/

Altiverb is not 64-bit and is a buggy mess if I try to run it in BitBridge:
http://www.audioease.com/Pages/Altiverb/features/Altiverb6features.html

What I'm Afraid To Buy Because They Are 32-bit:

Lexicon LXP is not 64-bit. I don't own it but as unstable as Altiverb is, I'm afraid to buy another reverb to run via BitBridge
http://www.lexiconpro.com/product.php?id=167

Voxengo Pristine Space is another reverb from a reputable company that is not 64-bit
http://www.voxengo.com/product/pspace/

As usual, Waves is determined to never join the 21st Century and forever be 32-bit. This includes their IR-1 reverb
http://www.waves.com/Content.aspx?id=250

Am I missing any 64-bit reverb options? What do other 64-bit users do for reverb?

EDIT:

What I have now purchased due to suggestions in this thread:

2CAudio Aether -- unfortunately, after I bought this, it will not run stably in my current Sonar project. If I start a blank project I seem to be able to run one instance stably, but multiple instances cause my current project to crash.

EAReverb
After downloading the demo for this and finding the demo to operate beautifully, I purchased the full version. Currently, the full version has a bug that causes it to distort the audio output of Autotune Evo (frequency-shifting it down to sound much lower), and I usually put AutoTune right before the reverbs in my signal chain. I'm investigating a workaround for this.

Hi - I am jut trying to get up to speed on this thread, will help if I can.  Can you please detail your system specs? (CPU/RAM/OS Version/Sonar version/etc).  I am just wondering if there may be something with your system itself that is a factor with the instability you are seeing from so many different plugins.

Also, do you have antivirus software running during audio processing sessions with Sonar?  If so, which one?  (these can sometimes interfere with audio processing).

Is your operating system patch current?  When you installed the current operating system on your computer, was it a clean install, or an upgrade?

What patches are applied to the version of Sonar you are running?  (X1 has some, X2 has a quick fix and an X2a set of patches).

As I was looking down through other posts here in this thread, and seeing others in the forum using some of the same plugins that are driving you crazy (but they are using them without these crashes), that is what led me to ask these questions - just in case there is something that can be altered in your system that may alleviate some of these issues you are having.
