Hi everyone, I am using Sonar X2 64 bit with Celemony Melodyne 64 bit. I do not know somehow I cannot play celemony melodyne as the my track plugin by double clicking in the melodyne interface. In order to playback, I need to play within Sonar X2. So is there anyone who know how to solve this problem as I can actually play my track within melodyne and here the changing pitch. I could do this in Cubase 5 using melodyne Bridge. Please help. I really appreciate !

I have Melodyne...and as far as I know the only way to play your track from within Melodyne itself is to use the stand-alone version.  If you use it as a plugin you have to play your track from within your DAW.  I haven't had Melodyne all that long so I may be mistaken...but that is the way I understand it so far.

HI, thanks for your useful reply, but I am a bit confused here and just want to make it clear. Do you mean " the stand alone" as the melodyne bridge which is playing as a host, or REWIRE ?

I assume you want to play your song with Melodyne as a plugin on one track and hear the Melodyne corrections?

- Install Melodyne as an audio effect plugin.
- Insert an instance of it in the FX box in the Inspector for the track in question.
- With the Melodyne  GUI open click 'Transfer'.
- Play the part of the track you want so it appears in Melodyne.
- Do your note corrections/manipulations.
- When you now play the song you wll hear the effect.

You can then bounce a 'corrected' clip/track/part of a track to a new track.  I always keep the original track for safety and possible use for a double tracking effect.

Melodyne have lots of very helpful tutorial videos here:

You seem little confused regarding Melodyne?I suggest you read the manual and watch some videos how to use and install Melodyne.
Melodyne Bridge are only used in the Studio version that are still in x32bit program. Melodyne editor are in x64 and are both a plugin and standalone program.

Both the Melodyne Studio and Melodyne editor work fine with SONAR x64 with Sonar X2, X1 ,8.5 expanded, 8.5.

I also use the "Save audio in it's own folder" option in Sonar....and, in each new project I use Melodyne in...I click "File Options" and tell it to save Melodyne files in a created folder "Project Name\Audio\Melodyne".

Also, to make sure that Melodyne is working with a dry, raw audio file...I insert Melodyne as a "clip FX" by right clicking on the clip and adding it as an FX there.  That way there is no other FX on the clip to alter the sound before it gets to Melodyne.

That looks like a good tip, thanks I'll try it!  I sometimes forget to swich off any EQ and reverb in the FX bin alongside Melodye before I bounce and have to do it again.

Well, I have actually seen a sound engineer doing what Stan suggested: double clicking the melodyme plugin (not standalone) interface.

He was using Apple / digidesign / protools 9

I remembered being surprised he could do that in the plugin. so, it may work on some platforms / setups.

In Sonar to use the double click to start and stop melodyne editor plugin you have to enable either Input Echo on the track or Play Effect Tails after Stopping.  This is after you have transferred the passage into Melodyne.
