Hi,

Does anyone know of a virtual instrument that produces the sound of a person whistling?  The ideal virtual instrument would accept midi input including note events, have several velocity layers and respond to cc events such as modulation.

A high quality sampled or modeled sound source would be nice.

Thanks in advance for your recommendation!

Do you own Kontakt?  If so, there are a few sample libraries out there.

IIRC, it requires the full Kontakt (not the player version).

I am a virtuoso whistler and should really record my own whistle library. My baroque trills simply have to be heard to be believed....

Have you tried using the ocurina sound that is built into several of the gm midi sound modules?

Buying a library to whistle for you? What happened to sweat equity?

Thanks very much for the suggestions.   It looks as though I'll need to look into getting Kontact.

You know how some sites have advertisements that relate to whatever you're looking at?  One of the links above lead to a site with advertisements.  I thought it was so funny that the advertisement engine matched an advertisement for lawyers seeking to represent whistleblowers to a page describing a whistle VST.  Now that's funny!

Once again thanks for the suggestions.
