I was intrigued by the story related in the track “Winkie” on the Folklore album. It’s not often you get rock songs about Beaufort Bombers and pigeons.  Google led me to Dave Longdon’s blog, which I had not seen before. Here is the story of “Winkey”.

The rest of the blog is also very interesting if you are a BBT fan.

Always great story songs with BBT. 'Judas Unrepentant' for example, who'd have imagined a song about an embittered art forger, let alone one with such a brilliant hook?

Played this CD about 8 or 9 times now, it's a masterpiece. The sheer scale and depth of the music would fill 4 CD's by other bands. 'Along The Ridgeway' is my current favourite, possibly because  I spent almost 3 decades in that area.

I agree and probably favour “Along the Ridgway” too. It’s not an “easy” album, and I mean that in a very good way. It’s musically challenging and stimulating.

A masterwork indeed.
