One Note: Neither Microsoft or Apple are a good choice, unless you want to assure the death of SONAR. Look at their history. As far as migrating to apple, no... just no. I use their iphone because I got a hand me down other than that to many negatives, unless you are an apple cultist....

Get rid of the free updates for life. That was ridiculous.  It is a no-win if Gibson cannot break even at least.
 
So start charging for updates.  And have an annual fee.  It is better than switching DAWS.  And it would be nice to keep the current staff that knows the program and what they would like to do to make it better.

If another company bought Cakewalk I don't think they would have to honor the free updates for life, but would probably offer some kind of compensation for free lifers instead in the form of extras or big discounts.

The Free update was here because they knew the fallowing stuff ....imho
 
Cakewalk never did that in 28 years , they knew how to survive and gain new costumers .... it's all Gibson style ... i really hope some Hambourg guyz could buy the source code and use it ....
