Saw that, looks old.

Pt 2 is "After installing SONAR, open the Help menu > Offline Activation > Export Activation Request to open the Save activation request dialog box. Note that this menu option will not be available after SONAR has been activated."

Their is NO Offline Activation  option in the HELP Menu of latest Sonar Platinum anyway. Its activated via online / Command Centre software

The way to create this in previous versions was via the HELP MENU. BUT in recent online activated Platinum that feature is NOT in the help menu.

How do we offline activate our online activated software??

Good question!

As you see clearly in the instructions,, activation still requires logging on to your account. So once we can no longer log in to our accounts we are toast.

I don't think there is a crack for the latest version,

I happened to see a cracked version of Platinum build 23.10.0.14 (which is the current version) in my travels recently.  I have no idea how well it works as I'm a registered Platinum user and don't need it.

I don't think there is a crack for the latest version, I think the reason they developed the on line system was to stop the huge amount of piracy that Sonars had with the old system ...

The latest crack is from 04.11.2017  Version:  Cakewalk SONAR Platinum 23.10.0.14. Complete download + full libraries + Content.
I don't say were you get this full cracked download. The last years every month appears the full version with a few days delay. I think a lot of people have used SONAR without paying for it. I have always payed for software because I wanted support.

If Gibson had any sense of decency whatsoever they would have reached out to this community with a statement assuring Sonar users that the activation process would stay online going forward and that they had no intention of making anyone's DAW inoperable. But naturally they're not saying anything. This whole thing will be a stain on their reputation in perpetuity, that's even if they manage to stay afloat (which I'm doubtful of).

As for Windows updates breaking Sonar, the optimist in me hopes that some egg headed computer boffin will hack together a patch, if whatever is causing the breakage is patchable.

Gibson says nothing.
They have to count their money because they have to pay back 375.000.000 $ debts in August 2018. And they don't have the money. So they close all - at first they have closed Cakewalk.

Don't upgrade Windows? Simply "freeze" your DAW in it's current state - it will work until the hardware totally fails.

And when that happens just take your "backup" drive image and install it on a new PC.
