OK-MAde it thru Company party with Focusrite 8i6 then returned it.
I am looking at these 2: (they have the ins and outs I need)

Roland Octa capture and motu ultralite mk3

Roland-One reviewer said cannot be used with USB 3.0 ports? Sounds dumb but could this be true?

motu ultralite mk3: Some reviews say the Windows drivers are -only so-so-motu more for macs?

Any truth here?

Any suggestions.
Thanks

I have used several outboard audio/midi interfaces. RME - great sound, drivers good, support so-so. MOTU - great unit - was firewire - hated firewire - get blue screens. Roland - I current have 2 UA-101 24BIT/192 kHz. USB. This is a EDRIROL product but its a Roland product. They don't make it now. Roland QuadCapture has taken its place but its only 4 in but I it depends what you are doing with them. With the my Edirols I did a recording session with both units linked together for 16 in/out. They worked well. If I had more demand for multitrack recording sessions I would go to Roland OctaCapture. I suspect you could pic up used units on ebay. Check specs at: http://www.sweetwater.com.tore/detail/OctaCapture/

I cannot advise on the above, but I can tell you that some interfaces do not like being plugged into USB 3.0 ports.  A few months ago, I found that out with my Presonus Audiobox 1818 VSL.  (I think they fixed it since then).

Anyways, you might want to see if any of the ones you are looking at will or do have support for Windows 8 - just a thought.

Good luck,
