  • Scrolling through very long lists of automation paramters....YAWN

I'm afraid this is one of those "they can't be serious" issues for me. Unless of course there's something I'm missing: is there a way to sift through extremely long lists of automation parameters at a reasonable speed? For some bizarre reason Sonar implements those horrible arrow button menus which doesn't work with the scroll wheel. There is no scroll bar, all you can do is hit that down arrow button and it is as slooow as hell.

Seriously, if I need to automate a parameter within some huge Guitar Rig effects chain, the list is so damn long I've almost forgotten what I was looking for by the time I get to the bottom. Those menus seem like they've been left behind in some long forgotten stage of development. Totally annoying from a usability perspective! Anyone else frustrated by that?

I agree - those lists are a pita.

About the best you can do is with the mouse arrow hovering over (a) the entry that opens up the long list or (b) on the long list itself, you can type a letter and it goes to/highlights the first "entry" of that letter.

First letter only, no multiple letters to further refine the "search".
No letter? No dice. It won't go the closest letter.

Alternately, with the mouse arrow hovering, the keyboard up/down arrows scroll much faster ...and wraps around the list rather that stopping at the bottom like it does with the "list" arrow.

Use both - letter then keyboard arrows - and it's much better.
