  • X2a shutting down.."disc load"

Now with X2a "Disk load" will climb until it stops playing.
It's not consistantly doing it.

It will happen about 1 1/2 min. into a 2 min. tune.

Didn't do it with X2. Don't know % it was- it wasn't shutting down so I didn't
check it.

How full is the HDD you project is being worked from?

I know in X1 I can experience probs if I start to exceed over the 50% full mark.

It is "disc load" shutting it down- it's not that there is a hard drive space issue.

So, no reason known?

What is the reason that disc load percent gets high?

Hi Spacey. The files you are streaming what are they?  What is their bit depth and sample rate? What do you have your latency set to?

Hi John.
24 bit- 48000- using asio reported latency (1311)
Buffers at 64 -play and record.

John this is an old project recorded with 8.5. I imported
into X1 then X2 and had no problems.
This is the first problem and no project settings have been changed.

I've also filed a report with Cake.

Just a thought and checkin on it where you were at with available space.  I dont think the amount has anything to do with the load but I know Ive been able to make mine do it if the disk gets to up there in stored data for some reason.

Im assuming its an internal HDD?

Anyway, this sounds like one for the experts,  (Im not) LOL

Good luck with it-Im curious to see what ya come up with on it

Your latency seems way too high. I would reduce it to 256 or so. Sometimes when latency is too high it can cause all sorts of problems. I'm not saying this is the problem but it can't hurt to try.

Everything else seems fine. BTW its good to see you again.

Thanks John.

I changed to 256 and max. disc load on two checks was @25%- down from 75%+.
Not sure if X2a had anything to do with that- it has been the only change made.
It's not something I monitored so don't know what it was before.

Thank you too Mike. Always nice to have suggestions when trouble-shooting.

Appreciate the help guys!
Michael
