• SONAR
  • X2a - issue not solved / peak markers bad display in clip pane

I sent a problem report to CW (CWBRN - 12729), and CW sent be back an email about it, saying it was "on file with the development team".

But it seems that the issue remains the same (very troublesome for live recording, because it makes difficult to check the levels).

It was also reported in :

So ?

It worked perfectly since the beginning of Sonar (maybe it is the new clip titles that cause the issue).

Nobody has the same issue with peaks markers in the clip pane ?

Yes, problems with numbers being cut off in the bus pane with waveform preview on, and markers also stop updating on occasion in the clips and bus panes until I stop and restart the transport.

I don't use peak markers, but turned them on to test.

They do not update correctly for tracks or busses. The values are cut off.
However, clicking in the TV will bring them back, or resizing a track.

This problem persists with track headers toggled on or off.

Thanks you !

Please CW, would you fix it ?

(it worked perfectly up to X2 !!!)

I s'pose it may seem small to some folks (especially if they don't use the feature), but that was the main fix I was hoping for in this release. Bummed to hear they didn't get to it. I had reported it, too.

I don't use peak markers either. What do you need that for?
I see all peaks on tracks and console-view over here though.. Peak and RMS

I use them to keep track of what the loudest part of a track is for gain staging, and adjusting settings on compressors and limiters. They can be a real time saver.

fyi, I just checked this on the original X2 (pre X2a) on my Win7 HD and it was broken in that version too. Checked X1 and it works fine there. So it wasn't X2a that broke it. It was already broken in the original X2. X1 had "flag" backgrounds the same color as the vertical marker lines behind the numbers, and X2 doesn't, so it looks like someone screwed up code that affected those flags and it's messing the display up.

Exact, the problem came with X2.
Maybe because of the new "clip header indicators" ?

And i confirm that these peak markers are very useful (to quickly check the levels when recording, setting compressors, etc).
I really miss them.
